Man robbed at gunpoint in LaSalle

A 20-year-old man said he was approached by three men and robbed at gunpoint at 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 5900 block of Stephenson Avenue.

The victim told city police that he was just getting into his car when three men in their early 20s came up to him. He said one man put a handgun to his head and demanded that he hand over what he had. The suspects took $55 from the victim and emptied his car

Bills’ Williams visiting specialist for wrist injury

[From SI.com] Buffalo Bills high-priced defensive end Mario Williams missed practice and did not attend team meetings Wednesday while visiting a specialist to determine whether to have surgery to repair a nagging left wrist injury.

Happy Birthday Annie Edson Taylor!

On this day in 1901, Annie Edson Taylor took a trip that would never be forgotten and would be talked about for more than a century. On her 63rd birthday the former school teacher climbed into a barrel, the hatch was closed and the barrel was set adrift above Niagara Horseshoe Falls. She began a voyage that day that only a handful of people over the last 100 years would live to tell about.
