Charter school applicants believe they have answer for Falls’ struggles

It’s all about choice. Options. Opportunity.

These are the driving forces behind the recent application, submitted to the New York State Education Department late last month, by a group of private citizens from Buffalo and Niagara Falls to open up a charter school somewhere in the city for the 2015-16 school year.

Called the Academy of Learning and Leadership, its founders hope to provide not just those choices for Niagara Falls residents with young children, but also the successes not currently being realized by the only other charter school in Niagara County, Niagara Charter School in Wheatfield…
