Announcing: Talent Show Applications Accepted Through August 22

All individuals age 14 and above with a developmental disability living in or attending school/program in Niagara County are invited to try-out for the upcoming talent show.

Application forms must be returned by August 22, 2014 to be eligible for the mandatory auditions to be held in September. Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara’s “Opportunities Got Talent,” an annual occasion featuring the aptitudes of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities through song, dance, theater and comedy in a competitive format will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the historic Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda. Individual and group performers are invited to audition.

The event is open to the public. This talent show affords people with musical or theatrical talents a public opportunity for expression under the direction of James Matteson and the agency’s Recreation Department. A panel of judges from the community selects the winners. The sponsor for the event to date is ARCEU NYSUT/AFT AFL/CIO Local 4265.

For nearly 60 years, Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara has been providing results-oriented training, employment, service coordination, exceptional parenting, recreation (youth and adult), residential, geriatric, fine arts, horticulture therapy and health-related and support services to people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities from newborn to seniors, and their families, throughout Niagara County.
