Memorial Medical Center to hold community healthcare conversation

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center wants to hear your ideas for getting the community engaged in health care.

The medical center will host a community conversation on the topic from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26) in its first floor auditorium.

Comments received at the forum will be included in community needs assessment being prepared by Memorial in connection with its application to participate in the state’s Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program. The medical center recently received a $499,000 state planning grant to pursue a partnership of providers and community agencies that will serve Niagara and Orleans counties.

The DSRIP program will promote community-level collaboration and focus on reforms that will achieve a 25 percent reduction in avoidable hospital use by Medicaid clients over five years. The P2 Collaborative of WNY will facilitate the session.

Refreshments will be provided and the first 20 people in attendance at Tuesday’s sessions will receive $10 gift cards. For additional information, call 278-4301.
