Event Features Women’s and Children’s Clothing,
Halloween Costumes, Décor and More
A special consignment sale featuring items at up to 90 percent off retail prices will be featured for the first time at The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls (101 Old Falls St., Niagara Falls, NY), from Sept. 19 through 21. “MA-MA Sales” features local mothers as consignors selling gently used items such as women and children’s clothing, maternity clothing, toys, books, games, baby equipment, nursery décor, shoes, Halloween costumes and more. Friday and Saturday’s sales runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday’s sale runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is free to enter the sales floor. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The event also supports Healthy Families of Niagara County.
In addition to the gently used items for sale, the event also features various vendors including Mary Kay, Origami Owl Jewelry, Blake’s Market All Natural Baby Food, Thirty-One, It Works, Dashing Designs, Unique Hair Bows by Suzanne, Paparazzi, Plumeria and Creative Candles.
Joyce Barnwell, founded MA-MA Sales more than six years ago at the First Presbyterian Church in Lewiston, NY. She named the event as such because “ma-ma” was her son’s first word and since consignors “MAke MAd Money” from participating in the sale. Since it was first conceived, the event has also taken place in locations in Lockport and most recently at the Pine Plaza in Niagara Falls. After outgrowing those locales, The Conference & Event Center was chosen this year to help accommodate a larger number of consignors and vendors.
“The consigners ‘Make Mad Money,’ just as the shoppers ‘Save Mad Money,’ ” said Barnwell. Although she has closed the booking of consignors, she is still accepting anyone who would like to participate as a vendor.
