Some of the most important families in local history are “permanent residents” of Oakwood Cemetery, and that’s part of the reason for its slogan which boasts “Niagara’s history is at Oakwood.”
Recently that history was recognized in a big way when Oakwood Cemetery was placed on the National Historic Registry. To the all the devoted volunteers and staff, it was a long time coming and the honor will be celebrated in a ceremony at 2 p.m. on Saturday…
