Though this photo is from 1966 and I was born in 1970, I remember when my mom and I used to ride the Metro Bus downtown a lot and I remember these buildings, including the one where it says “Bank with Marine Trust Company”. Years ago, there were Metro Bus buses for almost every street and avenue in Niagara Falls, NY. I also remember riding a bus down to somewhere and there was a bus from another street coming up. It seems like only yesterday as the time goes by so very fast. Nowadays, when I take a drive downtown, all I see mostly are abandoned buildings from what was one the pride of the Niagara Falls, NY area and you can’t help but miss what once was around the area. I especially miss the Ontario Avenue Salvation Army thrift store where I used to shop a lot there by buying records, tapes and clothes, such as T-Shirts and suits. Though I do like The Heart and Soul Kitchen, which is where that thrift store used to be, I still miss it.

Thanks Chris and everyone else involved with this site. It has been bringing back a lot of wonderful memories as it does take a person back to those days that once was.
