The Winter of 2015 was, from my point of view, THE coldest in the history of Western New York since the famous, or infamous depending on your point of view, Blizzard of ’77. I still remember that terrible storm as if were yesterday as the weather was extremely COLD and for two weeks, due to snow volumes and the extreme COLD, there was no school and the National Guard had to help dig out all the snow on the roads, sidewalks and parking lots, including the schools parking lots. I was in 1st grade at 66th Street School, which is now the Niagara Falls City School District building, when that happened and my 7th birthday wasn’t too far away as the blizzard did happen in January. Thank goodness that the Winter of 2015 is history and a distant memory.
