2016 Community Development Action Plan Process Set To Begin

Department Seeking Ideas and Priorities from Niagara Falls Residents

The Niagara Falls Community Development Department is kicking off public participation for the drafting of 2016’s Community Development Action Plan. “Our goal is to create a model for community based budgeting, proving our residents are indeed neighborhood experts. Our department takes public input very seriously. Recently, our most effective projects are directly linked with productive communication with our residents,” said Seth Piccirillo, Director of Niagara Falls Community Development. “Our applications, neighborhood workshops, survey and public hearing are all designed to hear as many voices as possible.”

Applications for the Community Development Block Grant, HOME, and Emergency Solutions Grant Programs, all funded by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, and citizen surveys are available at The Carnegie Building or online at www.nf-cd.org. Applications and surveys are due back to Niagara Falls Community Development Staff by June 30, 2015 at 4 pm.

Niagara Falls residents are encouraged to participate in the following neighborhood workshops to specifically outline community needs and suggest investments that can enhance quality of life. Residents are also encouraged to contact Seth Piccirillo, Director of Community Development, at (716) 286-8801 or seth.piccirillo@niagarafallsny.gov  if there are any questions.
