Ortt announces $500,000 for Niagara Falls Air Base

Senator says funds will help procure emergency management hub

State Sen. Rob Ortt today announced $500,000 in state funding to establish an emergency management hub at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. Ortt secured the funds in the 2015-16 state budget (Empire State Development Corp., Aid to Localities, S. 2003-C) to help base retention efforts for NFARS.

The $500,000 will help expand operations for Mercy Flight WNY, which provides emergency air medical transport into Niagara Falls…

Niagara Falls road paving schedule is on track

Town Board member Ronald Winkley said this past week that he will not run for re-election.

U-pick season in full swing in Niagara County

Short and sweet – that’s how the fickle strawberry season sometimes plays out, but as the ruby jewels dwindle in number, U-pick farms throughout Niagara County are gearing up for a busy July and August, with cherries and raspberries on the doorstep.
