Mayor Announces New Director of Business Development

NIAGARA FALLS—Mayor Paul A. Dyster has hired a city native as the Director of Business Development and Executive Director for the Niagara Falls Urban Renewal Agency and Niagara Falls City Development Corporation.   Anthony Vilardo previously served in the Administration of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo as the Governor’s Representative for the Central New York Region, working with local governments, businesses, community organizations and state agencies.  Prior to working in the Executive Chamber, he was the Field Coordinator for the Central New York Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO in.  Mr. Vilardo has a B.S. in Secondary Education from Niagara University with a Minor in Public Policy and Administration.  

Mayor Dyster said, “Anthony brings a tremendous amount of experience, insight and enthusiasm to this role, and his talents will be an asset to our city. He has a working knowledge of the major statewide economic development programs and has been immersed in the Regional Economic Development Council process. We have worked hard to achieve growth in our downtown core, I am confident that Anthony will build upon that momentum downtown and across the city.”  

Vilardo said, “After my family, there is nothing more I care about than the City of Niagara Falls.  To have the opportunity to come home to serve the citizens of Niagara Falls is a dream come true.  I believe that our best days are ahead of us and I look forward to working with members of Mayor Dyster’s Administration, the City Council and stakeholders across the city to continue to build upon the growth that is transpiring.” Vilardo begins his new position on June 29th.
