City of Niagara Falls Holiday Events Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and the 7th Annual Holly Trolley

[Press Release]

The 15th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony takes place on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm in the City Hall lobby, 745 Main St. Niagara Falls, NY.  The holiday season kick-off will include Mayor Dyster lighting up the City Hall lobby tree, a musical performance performed by “The Rainbow Singers” directed by Anita Harless,  a visit from St. Nick with crew, and refreshments for families and friends.  The City Hall lobby theme this holiday season focuses on the glory railroad days,  and several trains will be on display.  All are welcome to attend.

Also ushering in the holiday season is the 7th Annual Holly Trolley, scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2015 from 4pm to 8pm.  City officials, a caroling youth chorus of Harry F. Abate students, and the good St. Nicholas will depart from City Hall and make the following nine stops: NTCC at Roundabout, the Niagara Culinary Institute, the Niagara Falls Conference & Events Center, Schoellkopf Health Center, Columbus Park, Gill Creek Park, LaSalle-‘Foley’s Park’, Highland Community Revitalization Committee at The Renaissance House, Park Place Market (630 Main St.), and then return to City Hall.  The community is encouraged to participate by meeting the Holly Trolley along its route and singing carols with the riders at the stops.  Participants are welcome to bring any donation of nonperishable food items, hats, scarves, mittens, gloves and/or toiletries.  This event first introduced by City Administrator Donna Owens in 2008, is a collaboration of the city, community and business association organizers that decorate their neighborhood sites and invite residents to meet them at the trolley stops.  Donations gathered at the trolley stops will be distributed to area organizations serving needy families in Niagara Falls.  Locations and approximate times are as follows:
