Don’t miss the Eighth Annual Lewiston Region Tour of Kitchens, set for June 4 and 5 from 10 am – 4 pm in Lewiston and Youngstown. Five fabulous entertaining and cooking spaces will be featured and ticket holders will be treated to culinary samples created by chefs from area restaurants. The homes will also be paired with a retailer and/or decorator who will create tablescapes; an artful way to set a table for guests.

Tickets are $27 and are available at all Wegmans locations until 4pm on Friday, June 3rd. Tickets are also available online at www.TourofKitchens.net. Any tickets still available after those times can ONLY be purchased after 9am on the days of the event at the Tour of Kitchen’s Official Tent located on the corner of Center Street and First Street in Lewiston.

Tickets are limited and this event is expected to sell out with pre-sale tickets. It is strongly recommended that tickets be purchased in advance.

The Tour of Kitchens is a self-guided tour. The exact locations of the homes and all the details you will need for a great day out are found in your program. You will receive your program when you pick up your official ticket and map on the day of the Tour after 9am at the Tour of Kitchens Tent (located on the corner of Center Street and First Street). Open to the public! The Youngstown Garden Club will feature “Youngstown in Bloom” Flower Market and Perennial Sale at the Red Brick School House, 240 Lockport Street in Youngstown. Here you’ll find perennials from members’ gardens, culinary herbs and other garden items that will be available for purchase. This event will be held from 9 am – 2pm SATURDAY only.

The Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary will be on site selling their “I Want That Recipe” cookbook at each of the homes for $10. All proceeds to benefit future programs and equipment for the hospital.

Open to the public! The annual Jewelry, Home Décor & Culinary Market will be moving back to the Barton Hill Hotel! Stop in any time from 10am to 4pm where there will be vendors offering everything from unique jewelry pieces to kitchen tools and home accessories to delicious culinary items. Ticket Holders will also have the opportunity to view local artisan work at our NEW Pop Up Gallery, also located at the Barton Hill Hotel. Works made from different mediums by a dozen local artists will be on display and available for purchase as well.

In addition, the Barton Hill Hotel & Spa is offering a special “Tour of Kitchens” brunch on Sunday, June 5th. For those interested in attending the tour and brunch, you will receive a $5 discount on your tour ticket. Wine on Third Celebrates 9 Years with Live Art Event

Wine on Third restaurant is celebrating its 9th anniversary and offers fine dining, tapas and an amazing wine selection. On Saturday, June 11th, Wine on Third will hold their annual Live Art event in celebration of their anniversary. The Live Art event will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Wine on Third, located at 501 Third Street, Niagara Falls.

Tents will be set up out in front of the restaurant with tables and chairs provided for the artists. All artists are welcome to come and create their next masterpiece, which will then be auctioned off, later in the year. This auction will take place at Wine on Third, date yet to be determined. The proceeds of the auction benefit the Niagara Art and Cultural Center, located on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls. Wine on Third donates the canvases for the Live Art event, so all you Picasso’s out there just need to bring your art supplies and start creating!

This is a fun event, that draws a great crowd to benefit a worthy organization. The owners of Wine on Third, David Giusiana and Shawn Weber, encourages everyone to stop by, if not to create art, but then to enjoy watching how the art gets created.

In addition to the Live Art event, there will be music provided by DJ Rob Zimmerman, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm and live music performed by Naomi Langworthy from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. There will also be food and drink specials and a chance to win one of three giveaways that evening.

Niagara Falls, NY – Representatives from the leading tourism and entertainment venues in downtown Niagara Falls came together Tuesday afternoon to outline all that residents and visitors can see, experience and enjoy this summer. The Niagara Tourism & Convention Corporation (NTCC), Old Falls Street, USA, Hard Rock Cafe and Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino held a special joint media conference to announce the extensive list of entertainment and activities taking place this summer.

I am so pleased that all of our downtown partners have come together to share all of the exciting events and activities that will be taking place this summer,” said John Percy, President & CEO of the NTCC. “As we look forward to another extremely successful tourist season, we are thrilled that our visitors and residents will have access to such a diverse and entertaining list of things to do.”

Riverdale Cemetery to hold annual Memorial Day observance Saturday

Riverdale Cemetery will honor and memorialize veterans of the U.S. military at a ceremony to be held there at 11 a.m. Saturday (May 28).

Lt. Col. Steven Hefferon of the 107th Comptroller Flight at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and Lewiston Town Supervisor Steve Broderick will be the guest speakers.

Presenting the colors and ceremonial rifle squad will be members of Conrad F. Kania Detachment of the Marine Corps League. Lewiston-Porter High School students will render musical selections and a history of Memorial Day. A memorial wreath will be presented by the family of the late Robert D. Wilson, a Korean War veteran and Purple Heart recipient. Prayers will be offered for the souls of all deceased U.S. military veterans.

Established in 1896 and situated along the Niagara River between Niagara Falls and Lewiston, Riverdale Cemetery is the site of three sections of interred veterans dating from the Civil War to the present.
