There’s never a good time to discharge black sewer gunk into Niagara Falls. But doing it on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the height of tourist season may be the worst timing ever.

Niagara Falls home where boy was mauled by Rottweilers condemned

Following up on neighbors’ complaints of foul smells and barking dogs, police recently raided the 70th Street home where two Rottweilers mauled a 7-year-old boy on June 7. Somerset couple agrees to permanently protect 63 acres on Lake Ontario

A 63-acre parcel on Lake Ontario that includes both wetlands and mature forest will be permanently protected from development under an arrangement between the owners and the Western New York Land Conservancy.
Thomas and Susan Carestia, who have lived on the property on Lower Lake Road in Somerset since 2001, signed a perpetual conservation easement for the land.
