Niagara Beautification Commission Announces Annual Citywide Home and Business Holiday Decorating Contest

The Niagara Beautification Commission and the Niagara Gazette will host “Light Up Niagara,” their annual holiday decorating contest between November 30th and Dec. 19th this year.

Residents can nominate residences or businesses by leaving a message at 285-5030, on our Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/NiagaraBeautification, by sending an email to Niagara.beautification@gmail.com or mailing their nominee to Niagara Beautification Commission at 10 Rainbow Blvd, Niagara Falls NY 14303. Only one nomination is required to be considered for the contest.

Judging will occur the week of December 11th and final judging will occur on December 19thth 2017. Winners will be announced in the Niagara Gazette before Christmas. Residents and business owners are encouraged to have their lights on and make sure their house number easily visible. Homeowners and businesses who have won their area in the past three years are not eligible to compete for a prize.

The prizes include:

  • One winner from each of our six designated neighborhoods will win a gift certificate to Tops Friendly Markets and a framed photo of their house.
  • The grand prize for the citywide winner will include a free helicopter ride on Rainbow Air, a gift certificate to Tops Friendly Markets and a framed photo of their house.

The prize for the winning business will be an a quarter page ad in the Niagara Gazette.The mission of the Niagara Beautification Commission is to mobilize the volunteer resources of the community’s private and public sectors to implement visual enhancements beautifying our community, to educate and promote public awareness and inspire pride in our community.
