Niagara Falls revises vicious dog complaint system

Animal complaints in Niagara Falls, especially those pertaining to potentially vicious dogs, now will be handled through the City Clerk’s Office.

Internet sex customer says he was set up for robbery in Niagara Falls

A 51-year-old Amherst man told police he was “set up” and robbed early Sunday by a woman he  met through an Internet website that police said is commonly used to, among other things, arrange paid sexual encounters.

The victim told investigators that he had met the woman once before at a city residence for a sexual encounter. When he contacted her Sunday, he was advised to meet her at Ninth Street and Ferry Avenue, then told he would be taken to another location from there…

Summit mall owner forfeits tax break as plans for sports domes change

Plans for two inflatable sports domes behind The Summit — a mostly vacant Wheatfield shopping mall — have changed, and the owner will lose a tax break granted by the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency.

Mall manager Cynthia Potts said Tuesday that owner Zoran Cocov decided to erect metal buildings instead of the inflatable domes because of security concerns that arose after three teenagers were charged with breaking into the mall and vandalizing it July 4.
