Cuomo: Statewide gaming could mean billions

A plan by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to legalize full casino gambling in New York State could be a financial boon, although the Seneca Nation of Indians isn’t pleased with the idea.

The New York Gaming Association has released a report suggesting such a move would generate over $3.3 in economic output.

The group also suggests that legalizing non-Indian casino gambling could create some 17,000 construction-related jobs and over 8,000 permanent jobs.

NYGA believes recurring annual revenue for the state in such a move would be north of $975 million.
