Now that Nik Wallenda has the approval of both sides of the border for his upcoming wirewalk over the Falls, the hype has really started.
Wallenda will make an appearance tonight on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. The stuntman talks with Frank DeFord about how his childhood helped prepare him for his upcoming feat.
He said it wasn’t a typical experience.
“It’s extremely important to stay focused and attentive while you’re performing,” he said. “When I was younger, I’d be walking the wire and all of a sudden something would hit me from the side and it would be a pine cone, or a football would come in front of my face.
