Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a scene in Cambria on Wednesday afternoon after a truck slammed into a garage and a person was injured.
A large box truck was backing out of the driveway on Northway Drive when the engine started to idle high. The driver of the truck put the vehicle into a low forward gear in an attempt to slow down the idle. The vehicle ended up crashing into the attached garage where it hit a parked vehicle,which barreled into the homeowner who was in the garage.
The parked vehicle continued into the rear wall of the garage, knocking it off its foundation and causing extensive damage.
The homeowner suffered minor right leg injuries and was transported to Degraff Hospital. Police are still investigating.
