107th in peril as cut reduction gets denied

There’s some bad news for the 107th Airlift unit that’s based out of the Falls.

A new report from the Air Force Times says that a proposal by 10 state governors to reduce the cuts in a recent military spending plan have been rejected.

And that could mean that the entire 107th will be eliminated along with the 845 jobs it provides.

The Niagara Military Affairs Council has been working to gets those cuts minimized, but the report says the air guard cuts could be upheld.

Supporters of the base had hoped a change in missions could spare the unit.

Those cuts would go into effect this fall
