According to multiple reports, a person of interest has been identified in connection with the brutal assault of Niagara Falls professional boxer Nick Casal.
Town of Niagara Police Chief James Suitor said the assault on Casal happened early Saturday morning at a party.
Casal suffered severe lacerations to the front and back of his head when struck with a blunt object.
Casal was training for his WBO Inter-Continental title fight against Ruslan Provodnikov that was supposed to place in late June.
