Wallenda fires back at Mayor Dyster

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) – Daredevil Nik Wallenda is firing back at the mayor of Niagara Falls over a money squabble.

Mayor Paul Dyster claims Wallenda owes the city $25,000 in security costs, which the tightrope walker says he has already settled with the state.

The city council agreed with Wallenda, passing a resolution last week directing Dyster to stop his efforts to collect that money.

Wallenda says the mayor still claims he needs to pay up.

So the daredevil issued a statement overnight reading in part, “My contract was with New York State…Because there is not a contract with the city of Niagara Falls, there is no bill. To suggest otherwise is a blatant misrepresentation…I have fulfilled my contractual obligations to the fullest extent, and have magnificent memories of my time in Niagara Falls.”

This whole episode is why Niagara Falls is and continues to be the complete laughing stock of New York State and possibly the nation.
Something good actually comes to NF and of course politicians get sucked down into the weeds.

Well done Mr. Mayor. I am sure more attractions like this will be lined up around the corner.

Way to have an “air tight” contract.
