  1. Craig Avery says:

The Oishei Foundation is just that. Literally a foundation on which Western New York can grow and develop. They consider requests from hundreds of not-for-profits and blend their assistance into the mix to support activity, creativity, and productivity. For Oishei to take an interest in the NACC situation shows the powers to be that the decisions made backstage and acted out on Monday nights are bigger than personal egos. These are decisions that effect more than our little neighborhood. If we are going to progress in this town, we have to realize that each and everyone of us has a responsibility to contribute to, participate in, and support all the interests of the community. Let’s encourage the Mayor and City Council to accept the challenge grant, and as so eloquently verbalized in the movie Animal House, just say, “Thank you, Sir, may I have another?”

  2. In the last two months alone, the Oishei Foundation granted $200,000 to the Isaiah 61 Job Training/Home Renovation Project in Niagara Falls, and now this grant offer.
That is almost a quarter million dollars to help funds projects in less than eight weeks. Non government funds helping to get things done. That is economic development.
