Niagara Falls native Paul Scaletta passes away at the age of 69


Niagara Falls native Paul Scaletta passed away at the age of 69 on Monday, April 1, 2013, in Las Vegas, NV, where he resided in retirement since 1995. The youngest of four sons, Paul was born to Samuel Scaletta and Rose (Sardella) Scaletta, also from Niagara Falls, NY. He was the proud graduate of the Niagara Falls High School Class of 1961, before earning dual degrees from both Niagara University and the University of Buffalo. A sports and football enthusiast, Paul played in both high school and college before continuing on to coach and teach science at Niagara Wheatfield High School. Upon retirement, Paul moved to Las Vegas where he enjoyed playing tennis and golf, while taking up a new found passion for tap and ballroom dancing. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.

Paul is survived by his three children and seven grandchildren from Jeanine Wisor and Carrie Pierce of Richmond, VA, and son, Paul Scaletta of Jupiter, FL. He is also survived by his three brothers, Larry, Frank and Sam Scaletta; his significant other, Reme Dooling; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo A venue, Niagara Falls on FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2013, from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2010, at St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, following a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Niagara Falls.
