State Sen. George Maziarz has announced plans to post the details of the city’s casino revenue spending online.
During a press conference Wednesday at City Hall, Maziarz, R-Newfane, said he has posted spending details from Niagara Falls Controller Maria Brown’s office on his official senatorial website. He said additional reports will be posted online as they are made available following future city council meetings. Maziarz said the move will give city residents greater access to casino revenue spending data, including date of approval by city council members, description of expenditure and the amounts involved.
“I believe in transparency and accountability,” Maziarz said. “I believe the people in the city of Niagara Falls have a right to know where that casino money is being spent.”
