WTS Fishing Tournament raises $150,000 closing the gap on a cure for Cystic Fibrosis

Gary Hall loves to fish.  He loves to help friends in need too.  When his buddy’s grand-daughter was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, Gary was proud to say he was already working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in raising money for a cure.  Where better to fish for a cure than the Lower Niagara River?

Gary joined forces with an existing organization that plans fund raising fishing tournaments for CF and introduced them to the power of the Niagara River, and the generosity of Western New Yorkers.  This year is his 6th annual tournament, participants include WTS clients, vendors, neighbors, friends, and former partners!

Some 200 anglers and guests enjoyed a surf and turf dinner at the Niagara Falls Country Club Monday night after the first day of fishing.  Tuesday’s second round of fishing started at 7:30 AM and ended with a lunch in Waste Technology Services’s back yard over-looking the river.  The lunch was catered by Macri’s Italian Grill with guest appearances by Gary and Anne in person!  Macri’s Meatballs, Chicken, pasta and salad…mmm..mmmm!

Look around next year at this time for an announcement of the 7th annual Lower Niagara Sport Fishing Challenge.   Join the fun, become part of a cure, and end the day with a smile!
