Former Wendt’s Dairy building burglarized

Officers are looking into a burglary in the former Wendt’s Dairy in the 8400 block of Buffalo Avenue.

A property manager told police that sometime between Sept. 7 and 11:45 a.m. Sunday someone broke into the plant by forcing open two exterior doors.

The manager said 50 to 60 electrical “bus bars” were cut from a panel and 3,000 feet of copper electrical wire was taken as well.

Wendt’s Dairy, a fixture on Buffalo Avenue for almost 60 years, closed in 2008.
