Congressman Says Grandinetti, Walker & Touma Share His Vision For City
U.S. Representative Brian Higgins (D-26th District) today announced his support for Democratic City Council candidates Kristen Grandinetti, Charles Walker and Andy Touma.

“Kristen Grandinetti and Charles Walker have fought alongside Mayor Paul Dyster on behalf of Niagara Falls residents, and I sincerely hope that voters will reward them with another term,” said Higgins. “Along with a career educator and community leader like Andy Touma, they constitute a team that knows and understands the important issues facing the city, and are prepared to do the hard work necessary to make their visions for the city a reality,” Higgins added.

Higgins announced his support for the Democratic candidates in the lead-up to the General Election next Tuesday November 5. In making this endorsement, while lauding Touma’s service as a civic leader, Higgins placed particular emphasis on the records of incumbent council members Grandinetti and Walker, whom he says have a vision for the city’s future that he shares.

“While I have represented Niagara Falls for only ten months, I have witnessed firsthand the steadfast commitment that Kristen and Charles have for their hometown,” said Higgins, whose congressional district was redrawn in 2012 to include Niagara Falls. “Kristen, Charles and Andy share my vision for Niagara Falls’ future: increased access to the city’s waterfront and increased economic activity in downtown that will create new jobs for local residents. Niagara Falls’ best days are ahead of us, and this team, working in cooperation with Governor Cuomo and Mayor Dyster are the best people to get that job done,” Higgins concluded.

Niagara County Democratic Chairman Nicholas J. Forster welcomed Congressman Higgins endorsement. “This is the second major endorsement in the last two days and it demonstrates the importance of the Niagara Falls city council race to give Mayor Dyster the tools for progress necessary to move the city forward in a positive direction,” Forster said.
