Falls pawnshop owner avoids jail

Five years’ probation was the sentence from Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas Friday for a Niagara Falls pawnshop owner who stocked his store in part with stolen property.

Ruben G. Longoria, 57, of Pine Avenue, had admitted to fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. The latter charge stemmed from his sale of the painkiller oxymorphone in Niagara Falls on Nov. 2 and 16, 2012…
