A man who initiated an after-midnight traffic stop on a woman’s vehicle earlier this month — and prompted the driver to report her suspicion about a police impersonator — turned out to be a federal law enforcement agent “working in his official capacity,” the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

The woman said she was followed closely and passed by a pickup, then was pulled over around 12:45 a.m. April 6 on Ewings Road, by the same pickup with emergency lights activated…

The new Niagara Jet Adventures ready to launch boat tours along the lower river this year is planning a job fair Wednesday at the Village Center, 240 Lockport St.

Lawyers for the city and a Pine Avenue pawn shop owner are attempting to settle charges that accuse him of operating without a license.

Ruben Longoria, the well-known owner of El Casino Buy and Sell, has pleaded not guilty to five city code violations of conducting a business without a second-hand dealer license. An attorney for Longoria, 57, 2008 Pine Ave., Apt. 2, is challenging those charges and has asked a Falls City Court judge to dismiss them…
