Swzedo challenges Pascoal’s ballot spot in Falls mayors race

Mayoral hopeful James Szwedo believes one of his opponents in the upcoming Republican primary should be removed from the ballot because he failed to adhere to an election rule covered under the Niagara Falls City Charter.

In a release issued Monday, Szwedo said he has taken steps to have fellow GOP mayoral candidate and local landlord Robert Pascoal removed from the ballot based on Section 2.4 of the charter which requires candidates running for mayor or council to have “been an elector of the city at least one year immediately prior to his nomination…”
