Help Save the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum’s 100 Year Old Carrousel

Do you remember riding the merry- go- round as child? Do you remember your hair flying back and the feeling of freedom as you rode up and down and listened to the magical sounds of the band organ?

Help the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum save its Allan Herschell Carrousel!  After 100 years of creating memories for generations our carrousel needs major repairs so we can all enjoy riding it once again. Over the winter 2 major parts cracked and must be replaced before the carrousel can operate. We need your support to save this historic treasure. This carrousel belongs to all of us, and together we can restore this artistic icon that represents rare skill and talent.

Our GiveGab fundraising campaign will use social media and online communications to reach supporters. The museum’s goal is to raise $40,000 to fabricate the replacement parts and professionally set up and balance the carrousel. These repairs will ensure its future safe operation.

Through the GiveGab Campaign donors will be given gifts for their different donation levels. Gifts include ride tokens, individual passes, family passes, one year and lifetime memberships to the museum, and the opportunity to be the first riders of our restored carrousel. Donors will also be able to donate directly to the museum by sending a check to the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier to 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda, NY, 14120 or visiting their local First Niagara bank.

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum offers a one-of-a-kind experience to ride an historic carrousel in the original factory where it was built. This beautiful carrousel was one of the first machines the Allan Herschell Factory shipped in 1916. Visitors can ride it whenever the museum is open, including all of our family events such as Halloween Spooktacular and Santa on the Carrousel. The museum staff and volunteers love watching the delight on visitors’ faces, young and old, as they ride the carrousel. Your support will continue this tradition for the next hundred years.

Updates on the campaign will be posted on the museum’s website www.carrouselmuseum.org, Facebook.com/herschellmuseum, and @CarrouselMuseum on Twitter. For more information, visit the museum website or gvgb.co/Carrousel2016
