Thomas Tedesco named City Liaison to Tourism Advisory Board

Today, Mayor Paul A. Dyster and City Council Chairman Andrew Touma announced the temporary appointment of Thomas Tedesco as the city’s liaison to the Tourism Advisory Board.  Mr. Tedesco has been an employee of the city’s Department of Economic Development since 1994.  He brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and a marketing background to his enhanced role.  

Mr. Tedesco will be responsible for working with the city, Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation and tourism orientated businesses on the following duties: keeping current a master calendar of events in the city that is accessible to the public via the city’s and NTCC’s website; assist businesses in events and activities which would promote their businesses; identifying short and long-term issues and recommending initiatives, evaluating alternatives and providing information which will enhance the overall experience for tourists; updating the city’s administration and Tourism Advisory Board.  

Mayor Paul A. Dyster said, “Thomas has long been a valuable member of our team. I am excited to see the work he does acting as the city’s liaison to the Tourism Advisory Board.”

Council Chairman Andrew Touma said, “I’m looking forward to working with Thomas in this expanded role to better serve our citizens, guests and business owners who rely on the emerging tourism industry.”  

Tourism Advisory Board Chairwoman Lisa Vitello said, “Having a designated liaison will be very beneficial to both our board and the city as a whole.  We have long needed someone to be able to coordinate activities between the city and tourism based businesses.”

City Council Liason to the Tourism Advisory Board Kenny Tompkins said, “This is an opportunity to ensure the city’s tourism interests are well represented. This is an encouraging development with regard to better promotion of our city.”
