Fruit finds chilly night, but wine grapes should be spared

The chilly weather threatened some of the local fruit that got an early start on spring with the warm temperatures.

Although many have been worried about the local wine trail and the effect the frost might have on it, Randy Biehl of Cambria’s Eveningside Winery said other fruits could be in trouble, but wine grapes that have yet to full develop should survive the freeze.

“We have wine grapes, and I’m not as concerned. I’m not crazy about it.
