I used to walk by every day on my way home from 17th Street school (that’s gone too). I would stop in and have a piece if I had the money! My father(Cataract Supply Co.) sold Trusello’s the big rotating oven that they used to cook the bread. I wonder if that is the same oven?

1953 high school, we would stop there on our way home with our 10c for a slice of pizza, now my future son-in-law is making the bread and pizza 60 years later
    love ma

Used to stop here when I delivered papers. Two loaves @ $0.30 each; one to take home and one to eat along my paper route…after I stopped at Marasco’s for a stick of Margherita pepperoni. A good Italian meal for a Polish kid!

Can’t wait to try it. I can still smell and yes, even taste, the square pieces we used to eat at Mary Adams picnics…in Kenmore, but the best pizza I’ve ever had. Lots of luck to DG Bread and Pizza. The good ole days were pretty good!

  8. Paul Murphy says:

Here in PA, we call it “tomato pie” and we have the best there is…….Trusselo’s in the Falls always had a great pizza.

  9. Jerry says:

Just seeing the video was a joy. It proves the truth of what Marcel Proust wrote: “When nothing else subsists from the past, after the people are dead, after the things are broken and scattered…the smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls…bearing resiliently, on tiny and almost impalpable drops of their essence, the immense edifice of memory.”

I cannot wait to walk in there and relive that piece of my childhood.

I’ll definately be giving that a try.Trusello’s pizza hasn’t been duplicated as far as I’ve tasted. Though the people who head up the Trusello’s facebook page are not happy.

They should have bought the Trusello’s name along with the building – they were well known for their authentic Italian-style pizza

I sure miss the old Italian community that area once was. But, Its good to see that people care enough to take notice. Tipping my hat to all of the folks who have taken to time to raise our awareness.
