Grisanti banned from casino for three years

There will be no repeat of the incident involving State Sen. Mark Grisanti, at least for a few years.

The local Republican lawmaker has been told that he and his wife Maria are no longer welcome at all Seneca Nation Gaming facilities after a brawl earlier this month.

This is standard procedure following altercations, but Grisanti has been banned from the casino for three years while his wife isn’t allowed to return for one year.

Job fair at Falls Sheraton to be held Tuesday, Wednesday

The Sheraton at the Falls is hosting job fairs today and tomorrow from 1 to 3 p.m. and will be hiring for a number of positions including bartenders, maintenance, lifeguards, and a restaurant supervisor.

The hotel is located right in the downtown corridor at 300 3rd Street, just across from the Seneca Niagara Casino.

Applicants are asked to bring two forms of valid ID.

Lockport man, runaway teen break ankles after jumping to avoid cops

A 31-year-old Lockport man who was harboring a 15-year-old runaway was arrested on Monday after both tried to elude police by jumping out a third-story window.

The teen had fled from a childrens home in Cattaraugus County earlier this month and police believed she was staying with Kendall Bell, who lives at the Urban Park Towers.

When police knocked on Bell’s apartment door, the two tried to jump from a back window and both broke their ankles in the process.

They were taken to ECMC for care.

Bell was charged with endangering the welfare of child and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Fire at Bit-O-Paris Motel at 8 a.m.

A structure fire at a trailer on Niagara Falls Boulevard was reported on Monday morning before 8 a.m.

The fire took place at the Bit-O-Paris Motel near the Niagara Falls International Airport. No other details were available at this time.

Falls native Mark Bridges celebrated after winning for costume design for the film “The Artist.”

This year’s nomination was Bridges’ first. He said prior to the show that he was ecstatic to be part of the festivities.
