Corwin makes an appearance at Orleans/Niagara BOCES

Assemblywoman Jane Corwin, who represents Western New York in the New York State Assembly, was recently the honored guest of Orleans/Niagara District Superintendent Dr. Clark Godshall, Career and Technical Education Director Joe Steinmetz and Board of Education Vice President Becky Albright.

Albright had invited Assemblywoman Corwin to come visit one of the BOCES centers when her schedule allowed. She made time in her schedule recently to stop by the Orleans Career and Technical Education Center where she was given an hour-long tour of the center and was able to talk to some of the teachers and see the classrooms and the projects the students have been working on.

She was also presented with a T-shirt that one of the Graphic Communication students designed and some literature about all the programs that Orleans/Niagara BOCES offers to its thirteen component districts.

Albright said she was thrilled that Assemblywoman Corwin was able to see the work that staff and students do at the school.

New York State Parks will not sell ad space for Wallenda Walk

Nik Wallenda will make money when he walks across Niagara Falls on a tightrope. The Seneca Niagara Casino paid him to practice there this month, and ABC-TV will pay him to walk over the falls next month.

The Canadian government also will make money. It aims to rake in nearly $200,000 by renting out restaurants and advertisement space in the parks around the falls. The Canadian tourism businesses are positioned to profit, as well.
